OUR STORY
Artfully Woven. Deeply Rooted. Globally Inspired
Celebrating Malawian craftsmanship and sustainable design.

Our Story
Baobab Design was established by Gabby and Gabriel in 2025 with a mission to share the timeless craftsmanship of Malawian artisans with homes around the world. Our collection reflects a blend of traditional African weaving techniques and thoughtful, timeless design.
Named after one of Africa's most iconic trees, Baobab represents strength, longevity, and deep cultural roots—qualities that are woven into every piece we create.
Each item is made from 100% handwoven Malawi rattan, often reinforced with sustainably sourced Bluegum wood for durability. The result is high-quality furniture that's equally at home indoors or outdoors—built to last, and made to be used.
Our products are not mass-produced. Every piece is made by hand, carrying the individual signature of its maker. This means no two items are exactly alike—a reflection of the authenticity and human connection behind each design.
When you purchase from Baobab Design, you're supporting local communities in Malawi. Every order directly contributes to creating jobs, sustaining families, and investing in long-term economic opportunity where it's needed most.
This is more than furniture—it's a connection between you and the hands that made it.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
