Each Baobab Design piece is handcrafted from natural rattan and palm leaves by skilled artisans in Malawi. With proper care, these items will remain beautiful and functional for years to come.
General Care
Regular Dusting
Dust regularly with a dry or slightly damp cloth to prevent buildup.
Sun Protection
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause fading or drying.
Moisture Control
Keep away from excessive moisture to prevent mold or weakening of the fibers.
Cleaning Tips
Light Cleaning
For light cleaning, use a soft brush or vacuum with a brush attachment.
Deep Cleaning
For deeper cleaning, wipe gently with a cloth dampened with mild soapy water, then dry immediately with a clean towel.
What to Avoid
Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Indoor Use Recommended
While rattan is durable, we recommend indoor or covered outdoor use to preserve the integrity of the weave and natural materials.
Natural Variations and Adjustments
Handmade Character
Slight variations or shifts in shape are a natural part of handmade craftsmanship and reflect the uniqueness of each piece.
Reshaping
If an item becomes slightly misshapen, gently reshape it by hand and let it rest in a cool, dry, shaded area to regain its form.
Storage
If storing your piece for a season:
- Keep it in a cool, dry place
- Cover with a breathable cloth—avoid plastic, which can trap moisture
